Privatisation is a very complicated and relevant topic today, especially given the state of the world economy and bankrupting governments. One hot issue that is WATER. Water is considered a public good. Water is essential for life and the WHO considers it necessary (a right) for every human to have access to at least 50 liters. Give that it is a human right to have water, what role should governments versus private companies have in providing this right? How much should it cost? Should it be subsidized? Take a look at three examples of privatization cases from the Philippines, Bolivia and Gabon.
